update on the BFG Comp 2 tires mounted on an S2000. What it like? Well, TRON comes to mind. By the Brass Bracups of Thor, these is amazing! I mean, I have never really been able to go for a straight up "summer only" tire before. The S was my "practical transportation" for when I wasn't on the motorcycle, so I always had to go with all seasons. But man, with these it is no muss, no fuss, no squalling and complaining, they just turn and stick there. I haven't really done much with them yet, but so far I am very very impressed.

I would LOVE to have a set of summer tires, but here in Minnesota it can snow in May or not snow as late as mid November, which makes the times I take them off and put them on hard to nail down.

Like I said, this is a first for me too, and it's pretty neat to see what the car is really capable of, with so simple a change.

I'be been doing it in Minnesnowta for the last decade. The small effort to change at the somewhat unpredictable start and end of the season is well worth the confidence of having the right tires.

Wow, are you serious?

At least keep in mind the difference in grip if you go back to all seasons. I've nearly Darwin'd myself looking for grip that just wasn't there even with decent brand tires.

Huh, that good. I'm kind of on the fence about upgrading from my BFG G-Force SuperSports to Dunlop Direzza ZII's, which look like this:

My real qualm with upgrading is that I can't help but to drive like I'm suicidal, on the edge of or past grip at all times. Now, keep in mind that a stock NA on mediocre tires at its limits still is not very fast. But ZII's would open me up to a whole new world of cornering ability, which of course I'd feel compelled to 'try out' and of course could end badly for me.

Obviously the real solution is to stop being a cornering fiend

Take it to a track. You would be surprised how much faster you could go. The street is no place for it. Even without realizing it, you are setting limits that you wouldn't on the track. Not to mention the whole, "kill an entire family of four after going through the side of a minivan" thing

Put them on in June take them off in October, easy peasy.

yep. I have to plow my way through the entire $700 investment of a rollbar just to be track legal though, first
